Message from our CEO

Ned Bassil

CEO

At INDEVCO North America, we’re committed to developing, manufacturing, and supplying products and services that are not only sustainable but also essential in helping our customers and end users reach their ambitions to achieve a Net Zero carbon footprint.

We finalized assessing our impacts in 2022 and, with the help of our stakeholders, defined our top priorities, and began measuring the performance of our divisions.  To support these commitments, we created new leadership positions in Manufacturing, Innovation, Supply Chain, and Sustainability to aggressively spearhead efficiency and waste reduction, sustainable product development, responsible sourcing, and monitoring and reporting of our progress. These critical steps will help us stay true to our philosophy by minimizing impacts on the earth and our communities.

Our divisions manufacture protective materials in industries that are highly impacted by post-COVID supply chain constraints, consumer pressure, rigorous goals set by consumer-packaged goods companies, and increasing legislation and regulation toward environmental responsibility.

As a result, we’re focused on creating circular economies by producing more sustainable building products and packaging, while recycling materials from these industries for reuse or regeneration into new products.

Within the INDEVCO Building Products division, our Barricade and Perma R brands combine into one of the most comprehensive building envelope portfolios available in North America.  The division is committed to innovating products that reduce home energy consumption for heating and cooling and that will help in the ultimate transition to a Net Zero carbon footprint housing sector.

At INDEVCO Packaging Solutions division, we work closely with our customers to design products from the beginning for end-of-life, source raw materials from chain-of-custody certified suppliers, downgauge plastic films and lightweight paperboard, and introduce recycled content and sustainable coatings into our packaging portfolio.

Within INDEVCO Recycling Solutions division, we collect scrap and waste from customer facilities and send it to our plastics plants to recycle back into finished packaging for these customers. We’ve also invested in a Construction & Demolition (C&D) recycling center that channels building material waste into useful end-of-life products.

In an era of greenwashing, we’ll work to ensure our claims are valid and reliable through third-party certification.  Last year, we formalized the use of the product Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA) for packaging.  Moving forward, we’re prioritizing product certifications and quality management systems in our manufacturing plants, one step at a time.

As we approach 2025, we can only achieve our commitments with the empowerment of our employees.  Moving beyond mandated occupational health and safety targets, we aim to offer meaningful learning and development opportunities for our people that expand their professional aspirations and meet their personal goals.

We look forward to the challenge of reaching our goals, as we remain committed to protecting Mother Earth and her people for the generations to come.
